The Indonesian Post
Geely has evolved significantly from its earlier days. The Chinese manufacturer has transformed into one of the automotive giants in China and is now listed among the top ten automotive brands globally. Currently, Geely boasts several automotive sub-brands, including Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Lotus, London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC), Volvo Cars, Polestar, Smart, and Ji Yue. The company is preparing to enter the Indonesian market through PT Geely Auto Indonesia, with plans to officially announce its presence in the first quarter of 2025 at an automotive exhibition. Michael Song, Vice President of Geely Auto, emphasized that Indonesia is a strategically important market for the company. This significance stems from Indonesia's automotive market, which has reached an annual sales volume of one million units, making it a substantial market on a global scale. He noted that the company needs to gain deeper insights into current consumer demands and future development trends to formulate a series of strategic initiatives, including product offerings, localization, and dealer networks. "To achieve this goal, we have established a local sales company in Indonesia and are currently organizing our product matrix and building a comprehensive system," Song explained recently in Ningbo, China. Furthermore, he mentioned that there are numerous brands in the Chinese market, and similarly, Indonesia is witnessing an increasing number of new brands competing in its automotive sector. He assured that each manufacturer has its own unique strategy for conducting business, and Geely has also prepared its own approach to be implemented in the future.
