In an effort to enhance its market penetration domestically, Aion Indonesia plans to establish electric vehicle charging stations, known as Stasiun Pengisian Kendaraan Listrik Umum (SPKLU), in strategically selected locations. Jefri Holidaja, the Head of Aftersales at Aion Indonesia, revealed that the implementation of this plan is expected to commence by the end of 2025, following one year of operation since the company’s collaboration with Indomobil Group began. "This is merely a plan, and the capacity may be substantial. If there are no obstacles, we anticipate completion by the end of 2025," he stated at the ICE BSD City in Tangerang on Friday, November 29, 2024. "Please allow us some time, as building this infrastructure requires significant effort," he added. Meanwhile, Aion electric vehicle users can currently charge their vehicles at several dealer networks that have been established, although the charging capacity remains relatively modest at an average of 7 kW. Additionally, owners have the option to charge their vehicles at home with the same capacity, as the company offers complimentary wall charging installation with each vehicle purchase. "Currently, we provide smaller charging options at the dealers, but they are accessible to Aion users. The type is CCS," Jefri noted. "As for the official capacity of the charging stations we plan to build, that has yet to be determined. This is still in the planning phase, but it will be larger than what is available at the dealers," he explained. At present, there are 10 Aion dealer networks in Indonesia, primarily located in the Jabodetabek area, including Daan Mogot, Warung Buncit, Harapan Indah, Sukamaju, Cikarang, and Soekarno-Hatta Bandung. Additionally, three other dealers operate with 1 S services at QBig, Supermall Karawaci, and Grand Metropolitan Mall. The selection of these dealer locations is considered strategic for expanding market reach and meeting consumer needs. Aion aims to increase its dealer count to 30 by the end of this year, further extending its presence across Indonesia.
