AirNav: The Number Of Flights In Indonesia Has Increased, With Overflying Rising By 81.8%

The Indonesian Air Navigation Service Provider (LPPNPI), also known as AirNav Indonesia, has reported a significant increase in the number of flights in Indonesia throughout 2024. 

A primary factor contributing to this growth is the rise in over-flying flights, which has surged by 81.8%. Ahmad Nurdin Aulia, the Director of Safety, Security, and Standardization at AirNav Indonesia, explained that this spike is attributed to the transfer of Airspace (FIR) over the Riau Islands and Natuna from Singapore's CAAS to AirNav Indonesia on March 22, 2024. 

Preferred Flight Routes 

For international flights, the top five city-pair routes are: 

- Kuching – Kuala Lumpur 

- Kuala Lumpur – Kinabalu 

- Singapore – Manila 

- Melbourne – Singapore 

- Sydney – Singapore 

In terms of international travel, the five routes with the highest frequency are: 

- Jakarta – Singapore 

- Jakarta – Kuala Lumpur 

- Denpasar – Singapore 

- Denpasar – Kuala Lumpur 

- Kualanamu – Kuala Lumpur 

For domestic flights departing from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK), the most popular destinations include Denpasar, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Balikpapan. 

AirNav Indonesia has also achieved a safety performance indicator with an average Acceptable Level of Safety Performance (ALoSP) of 105%. This reflects AirNav's commitment to enhancing navigation services and flight safety. 

Furthermore, AirNav's services have received high appreciation from customers, evidenced by a Customer Satisfaction Index score of 4.05, surpassing the target of 3.50. This assessment was conducted through on-site observations by the Indonesia National Air Carriers Association (INACA) at various airports from July 3 to September 27, 2024. 

"AirNav Indonesia remains dedicated to improving flight navigation services and ensuring safety," stated Ahmad Nurdin Aulia during a press conference on Saturday, December 21.
