Minister of Transportation Budi KaryaSumadi supports the plan of sailing the pinisi ship for tourism towards the National Capital (IKN) in PenajamPaser Utara, East Kalimantan. According to the Minister, this step is important to introduce IKN to the wider community, especially since the tourism potential in the waters of Balikpapan is very attractive to enjoy. The tourism potential in the green and natural waters of Balikpapan is truly amazing and it would be a shame if not maximized. That's why today I visited the Punggur Port, ITCI Port, and the Orangutan Sanctuary Center which are planned to be the route for the pinisi ship sailing for tourism purposes in the Balikpapan region, especially towards the IKN area," said the Minister during a working visit to Balikpapan on Friday (21/6). The Minister explained that the Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has set two routes for pinisi ship services, namely from Semayang Port - PulauBalang Bridge (passing) - ITCI KU Dock (turning) - Semayang Port. Then for the opposite route, namely ITCI KU Dock - PulauBalang Bridge (passing) - Semayang Port (turning) - ITCI KU Dock. The total sailing time is estimated to be 3 hours and 30 minutes. Throughout the journey, the Minister continued, tourists will be able to enjoy various interesting experiences, starting from culinary tourism, visiting multipurpose buildings and the aesthetic PulauBalang Bridge, mangrove forests, orangutan sanctuaries, to seeing other endemic animals, such as dolphins, proboscis monkeys, and crocodiles. "When in the IKN area, tourists will be able to enjoy a city tour in the Core Area of the Government Center using environmentally friendly vehicles. This will certainly be an unforgettable experience for tourists," explained the Minister. Furthermore, the Minister also mentioned that sea routes can basically shorten the time from Balikpapan to IKN compared to using land transportation. Therefore, tourists will have more time to enjoy the experience in the capital city. The Minister of Transportation hopes that the provision of sea transportation services for tourism can provide a unique experience for tourists. It is also important that this step can make a significant contribution to the local economy and at the same time preserve the maritime culture of the homeland. Just so you know, the Minister of Transportation has previously invited the Indonesian National Shipowners Association (INSA) to collaborate in providing pinisi ships at the National Shipyard. Also present at this event were the Acting Regent of PenajamPaser Utara Makmur Marbun, the Director of Sea Transportation Traffic Hartanto, and the Head of Balikpapan KSOP Bharto Ari Raharjo.
