Monday, 13 Jan 2025

Indonesia AirAsia, a low-cost carrier recognized by Skytrax, is expanding its connectivity by launching an international route from Denpasar to Darwin, which will operate three times a week starting March 22, 2025. Tickets for this route are available for purchase as of today.

"We have observed a significant demand for travel routes to and from Bali, which remains a favorite destination for Australian tourists, as well as for connecting flights to over 130 destinations across Asia and beyond through the extensive network of the AirAsia Group," stated Veranita Yosephine, the CEO of Indonesia AirAsia, in an official announcement on Wednesday, January 8.

Vera further noted that passengers of Indonesia AirAsia can opt for the Fly Thru AirAsia service, allowing them to travel from Darwin to Phuket via Bali and arrive on the same day. Alternatively, travelers may choose to spend several days in Bali before continuing their journey to other destinations such as Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, Labuan Bajo Komodo Airport (Komodo Island), Singapore, Phuket, and many more.

Rob Porter, Executive General Manager of Airports at Airport Development Group, remarked that residents of the Northern Territory have long desired more flight options to Bali. "Bali has consistently been the top holiday destination for residents of Darwin, and this flight will stimulate a surge of tourists beginning their adventures in Indonesia. This partnership goes beyond mere flights; it enhances our connections with Asia, promotes cultural exchange, and strengthens business relations between the Northern Territory and neighboring countries to the north," Rob expressed.
