BYD Indonesia aims to solidify its presence in the domestic automotive market. Following the successful introduction of four electric vehicle models in 2024, the Chinese brand plans to unveil additional new models in 2025. "By 2025, BYD will introduce even more new models in Indonesia," stated Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, on January 20, 2024, in Jakarta. However, Liu refrained from disclosing specific details regarding the models that will be launched in Indonesia. It is certain, though, that the new models will predominantly focus on environmentally friendly vehicles. According to Liu, the new BYD family will be unveiled during Indonesia's largest automotive exhibition. "At the GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show), we will showcase new BYD vehicles, providing consumers with a wider range of options from the new family this year," he added. In the near term, BYD will kick off 2025 with the launch of a luxury vehicle from the Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment for the Indonesian market, specifically the Denza D9. This vehicle offers a range of up to 620 km and is a fully electric model from BYD, equipped with fast charging DC capabilities. The power output for this vehicle is 230 kW/313 PS and 360 Nm for the Advanced FWD variant, while the Premium AWD variant boasts a power output of 275 kW/374 PS and a torque of 470 Nm. According to the circulated schedule, the launch of the Denza D9 is set to take place on January 22, 2025, in Jakarta.
