Chinese automotive giant BYD has achieved global sales exceeding 300,000 units of vehicles in January 2025. 1. BYD Sells 300,000 Units in January 2025 According to Carnewschina, on Tuesday (February 4, 2025), BYD reported sales of 300,538 new energy vehicles (NEVs) in January 2025. This figure represents a 47.5 percent increase compared to the same month last year. However, it reflects a decline of 41.8 percent when compared to December 2024. In detail, BYD sold 125,377 pure electric vehicles (BEVs), marking a 19.1 percent rise from the same period last year. Meanwhile, sales of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) reached 171,069 units, an increase of 78.7 percent compared to January 2024. Of the total sales, 296,446 units were passenger vehicles, while 4,092 units comprised commercial vehicles and buses. Additionally, BYD's exports have surged by 83.3 percent, with 66,336 units shipped to various countries, setting a new monthly record since entering the automotive industry. It is noteworthy that BYD's sales data also includes its sub-brands, which consist of Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and Yangwang. Specifically, Yangwang sold 286 vehicles in January, while Fang Cheng Bao recorded sales of 6,219 units. Denza contributed with 11,720 units sold.
