Film A Business Proposal Faces Threat Of Boycott, Abidzar Al Ghifari Issues Apology

Thursday, 06 Feb 2025

Abidzar Al Ghifari has ultimately issued an apology following the controversy surrounding his involvement in the film A Business Proposal.

Previously, Abidzar attracted significant attention due to his role in the remake of the Korean drama A Business Proposal. Many fans expressed disappointment, believing he did not take his portrayal of the main character, Kang Tae Moo, seriously.

Criticism arose after Abidzar admitted that he had not watched the original series in its entirety, claiming he wanted to create his own interpretation of the character. However, the film he starred in is an adaptation that should ideally preserve the essence of the original version. Furthermore, Abidzar had also made remarks about Korean drama fans, whom he described as overly fanatical. This statement further incited public outrage and exacerbated the existing controversy. Consequently, just three days before its release, A Business Proposal faced the threat of a boycott.

Although he did not specifically apologize for his comments regarding the film, Abidzar shared a statement of apology alongside Falcon Pictures. Many speculate that this apology is connected to the controversy he generated.

"I sincerely apologize to all who have been hurt by my actions, words, and behavior," Abidzar wrote in his post.

The son of the late Ustadz Jefri Al Buchori also expressed gratitude for the criticism and backlash he received, as he views it as a valuable lesson.

"Thank you to everyone who has provided me with such an important lesson," he continued.

Abidzar emphasized that this experience serves as a significant learning opportunity for him to grow into a more mature and wise individual.

"This has been a major lesson for me in my journey towards becoming someone more mature and wise," he added.
