IIMS 2025: Boosting The Automotive Industry Ahead Of Ramadan?

The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025, scheduled to take place from February 13 to 23, 2025, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, is anticipated to serve as a positive catalyst for the domestic automotive industry at the beginning of this year. Daswar Marpaung, the President Director of Dyandra Promosindo, stated that IIMS 2025 marks the first automotive exhibition of the year, thus it is expected to provide a momentum for market recovery following a decline in car sales throughout 2024. Furthermore, the event coincides with the approach of Ramadan in early March 2025. Daswar noted that this timing is often utilized by many individuals to purchase new vehicles for their journeys during the Eid celebrations. "Therefore, I would like to emphasize that the timing is indeed appropriate, occurring just one or two weeks before Ramadan. This timing is what encourages all automotive enthusiasts to participate in IIMS 2025," Daswar remarked in Jakarta on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. 

In response to the growing enthusiasm among participants, Dyandra Promosindo has also expanded the exhibition area for IIMS 2025. "We have observed an increase in the number of halls, and even Gambir Expo, which we have never utilized before, is now fully employed. Consequently, the exhibition space has surged from 133,000 square meters to over 150,000 square meters," he added. 

Additionally, several authorized brand agents (APM) have hinted at the launch of new car models. Rudi MF, the Project Manager for IIMS 2025, mentioned that approximately ten brands are set to unveil their latest models at this inaugural automotive exhibition of 2025. "Regarding the launches, we kindly ask for your patience as we compile the details, but it is expected that there will be more than ten brands," Rudi stated during a conference on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. Among the manufacturers announcing new model releases are Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Chery, and BYD. Additionally, new entrants such as Geely and Honri from China will officially debut at IIMS 2025.
