Tuesday, 11 Feb 2025

The music group Yovie & Nuno has released a new version of their popular song "Bunga Jiwaku" in February, often referred to as the Month of Love.

According to a press release from the record company in Jakarta on Saturday, this beloved track from Yovie & Nuno, originally released in 2007, has been reimagined to align with the characteristics of the group's new vocalist.

Muchamad Ahadiyat, known as Diat, the guitarist of the group, stated that the idea to produce a new version of "Bunga Jiwaku" was initially proposed by Yovie Widianto and his management team

"We decided to record the old song with a different arrangement and vocal color because our new vocalist possesses a distinct character and timbre compared to the previous singer," Diat explained.

Chico Andreas, one of the new vocalists of Yovie & Nuno, expressed his excitement about reinterpreting the group's popular song with a fresh perspective.

"I am not concerned about how this song will be received by Yovie & Nuno's fans, whether they are long-time supporters or new listeners, as the essence and style of Yovie & Nuno remain intact, just presented in a more contemporary manner," Chico remarked.

Another vocalist, Adhyra Yudhi, hopes that the newly arranged song will serve as a means to introduce a new dimension to Yovie & Nuno, who have been active since 2001.

Diat also expressed his hope that the new version of "Bunga Jiwaku" will pave the way for the group to showcase a fresh atmosphere.

"The aim is for this remake to be embraced by all music lovers, and even to reach a broader audience," he stated.

"From the beginning, our goal has been to provide a new touch to our classic songs, so certainly, in the future, there will be more remakes of our other hits. Just wait and see," he added.

The new version of "Bunga Jiwaku" by Yovie & Nuno is now available on various digital music platforms.
