The Participation Of Over 190 Attendees At IIMS 2025 Is Anticipated To Boost Automotive Sales

Saturday, 15 Feb 2025

The Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2025 is set to be the first automotive exhibition held in the country this year. It is anticipated that this event will boost sales, particularly in the four-wheeler segment, which has yet to show positive figures.

As a point of reference, the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo) has released data indicating that car sales in January 2025 amounted to 61,843 units in wholesale distribution from manufacturers to dealers, reflecting an 11.3 percent decline compared to the same period last year.

Project Director of IIMS 2025, Rudi MF, expressed optimism for the upcoming year. Despite facing various challenges, all manufacturers appear confident in the Indonesian automotive industry throughout 2025.

"We must remain optimistic, even though 2024 was quite challenging with a decrease of around 16 percent from over one million to 800 thousand units. However, looking at the beginning of this year, many international brands are entering Indonesia, which keeps the atmosphere positive," Rudi stated during a live podcast on Morning News at iNEWS.ID and Trijaya FM on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.

To enhance sales at the start of the year, Rudi revealed that IIMS has invited numerous brands, encompassing both four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles, as well as supporting industries.

"As the organizers, we are making significant efforts this year to ensure positive outcomes, particularly in terms of transactions. We aim to maintain the momentum of holding IIMS before the Eid celebrations," he noted.

"We understand that the average Indonesian consumer purchases vehicles primarily for the purpose of returning to their hometowns during the holiday season. Therefore, we are strategically timing the event before Ramadan and Eid. Additionally, we are enhancing our communication and promotional efforts compared to previous years," Rudi added.
