Positive news for the tourism and business sectors in Indonesia!

Emirates Airlines is planning to increase its flight frequency to Indonesia, including the introduction of large aircraft such as the Airbus A380 and Boeing 777.

This plan was discussed during a meeting between Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and Emirates Airlines' Senior Vice President, Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, at the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai.

More Flights, More Tourists

Emirates recognizes the significant potential in the Indonesian market. With the rising demand for flights to major cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, and Denpasar, the airline is committed to expanding its fleet and enhancing flight frequency.

"The experience of flying on the Airbus A380 is particularly appealing due to its exceptional comfort. Moreover, Soekarno-Hatta Airport has met the standards required for such large aircraft," stated Sheikh Majid.

The addition of routes and large aircraft is expected to boost the number of international tourists visiting Indonesia.

Destinations like Bali and Jakarta will become more accessible, accelerating the growth of the tourism sector and supporting the local economy.

Full Support from the Indonesian Government

Minister Airlangga welcomed Emirates' expansion plans. He noted that the enhancement of air connectivity aligns with Indonesia's economic growth target of reaching 8%.

"The increase in fleet to tourist and business destinations will bolster the tourism sector as a key driver of national economic growth," said Airlangga.

He also assured that the airport infrastructure in Indonesia is prepared to accommodate the arrival of large aircraft such as the Airbus A380.

Positive Impact for Indonesia

The increase in Emirates flights to Indonesia brings various benefits to the economy and the tourism sector.
