Indonesia AirAsia will add new international flight routes this year in an effort to maintain the airline's connectivity. Head of Indonesia Affairs and Policy of Indonesia AirAsia, Eddy Krismeidi in Tangerang, Monday, said that the plan to add new international routes includes flights from Jakarta - Darwin, Jakarta - Australia and Jakarta - India. “For Darwin we open on March 22, 2025, for Australia it is likely to be mid-year and our plan will also add to India. But we can't share it yet because it's still in process,” he said. Eddy said, in addition to adding international routes, this year AirAsia will also increase the operational flight fleet to reach 30 aircraft units. Currently the company has 25 aircraft ready to operate. “We just need to add five more units, and those five already exist. We reactivate this existing aircraft,” he said. He revealed, during the process of procuring new aircraft for AirAsia airlines from manufacturers such as Boeing and Airbus, he did not experience difficulties in adding to the fleet. Nevertheless, the strategy carried out by his company is expected to continue to improve service quality and capacity in serving passengers who continue to increase, both for domestic and international flights. “Hopefully in this procurement (of aircraft) there are no significant obstacles because the process continues,” he said.
