Sriwijaya Air has resumed its flight route from Sultan Babullah Airport in Ternate to Sam Ratulangi Airport (Samrat) in Manado. This new route will operate daily. The inaugural flight, SJ 692, departed from Ternate and arrived in Manado at 12:42 WITA, marking the reopening of this route. The aircraft, a B737-800NG with a seating capacity of 186, carried 179 passengers from Ternate. Upon arrival at Samrat Airport, the crew and passengers were greeted with a water salute, along with the traditional North Sulawesi fabric and flower garlands. The aircraft then departed back to Ternate at 14:22 WITA, transporting 92 passengers. Capt. Putut Bahari, the Director of Operations at Sriwijaya Air, stated that the reopening of the Ternate to Manado route is a significant milestone in the airline's commitment to serving the community. "This is particularly aimed at enhancing air connectivity and supporting the growth of the tourism and economic sectors in the region," he remarked. Maya Damayanti, General Manager of PT. Angkasa Pura Indonesia at Samrat Airport, expressed that Sam Ratulangi Airport is dedicated to partnering with the local government of North Sulawesi to enhance connectivity in Eastern Indonesia, especially through the introduction of new domestic and international flight routes. "This will facilitate easier access to air travel for the community, thereby contributing to the growth of the tourism and economic sectors," she added
