Monday, 10 Mar 2025

The Ministry of Creative Economy signed a memorandum of understanding or MoU with the Public Broadcasting Institution Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI) to collaborate in order to strengthen the music industry ecosystem in Indonesia.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said the collaboration included sharing problems and data related to music potential in Indonesia and also activation with creative economy activists, especially musicians and content creators in the regions through the regional RRI offices.

"Incubating Indonesian musicians to be more professional, more qualified, access to the market including intellectual property assistance. So there are many things that we can do with RRI in the future, like others we have also done with TVRI," said Minister of Creative Economy Riefky when met by the media at the MoU signing event at the RRI building in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Riefky said this collaboration was also based on the efforts of the Ministry of Creative Economy and RRI to provide media that can support content from Indonesian musicians, especially in the challenges of digitalization through digital radio.

Through this MoU, the Ministry of Creative Economy is also trying to answer the challenges of the creative industry and support the Indonesian music industry ecosystem by conducting a lot of incubation and mentoring for musicians to enter market access and digital platforms such as Spotify, Langit Musik or YouTube, and overseeing policies related to royalty management.

"Then also including protection, intellectual property, and so on. Including concert permits which are currently also challenging, well that is also part of everything that we are gradually fixing together with the ecosystem," said Riefky.
