Kisai Entertainment Has Made A Significant Investment In Two Local Studios To Strengthen The Webtoon Ecosystem In Indonesia

Tuesday, 11 Mar 2025

Kisai Entertainment, a webtoon production company, is introducing innovative measures to advance the digital comic industry in Indonesia. Through the Kisai Studio Incubation Program (Kisai SIP), the company is investing hundreds of millions of rupiah into two selected local webtoon studios. In addition to providing financial support, Kisai SIP emphasizes the enhancement of human resources and business readiness within the Indonesian webtoon sector.

The program encompasses various forms of mentorship and knowledge sharing, ranging from technical training in production quality that meets global industry standards to business development and entrepreneurship for local creators. "Through the Studio Incubation Program, Kisai aims to provide a platform for both artists and independent local studios to grow their businesses. We hope they can serve as a vehicle for many other creators to engage in the webtoon industry, ultimately establishing themselves as competitive creative companies on a global scale," stated Tessa YP, CEO and Editor in Chief of Kisai Entertainment, in a press release on Sunday, March 9, 2025.

Following investments from Sorajima, a Japanese webtoon company, and Anjary Jaya Raya, a local creative firm, Tessa affirmed the company's ongoing commitment to developing original Indonesian Intellectual Property (IP) and increasing the number of local talents capable of competing on the global stage. "The world of comics and webtoons, as we know, is driven by the passion and dedication of creators. Through SIP, we are adding value through educational programs and continuous improvement, enabling local creators to refine their entrepreneurial skills, develop their studios into profitable and sustainable creative enterprises, and actively contribute strategically on a global scale," Tessa remarked.
