Wednesday, 09 Apr 2025

Visinema Studios' Jumbo film is now a hot topic in the Indonesian film world. With almost 800 thousand viewers until March 5, 2025, Jumbo has succeeded in occupying the position as the highest-grossing Indonesian animated film of all time. This figure has even surpassed the film Si Juki the Movie: Panitia Hari Akhir which previously held the record with 642,312 viewers.

Although Jumbo continues to compete closely with other big films in the 2025 Eid season, such as Pabrik Gula and Qodrat 2, this film has the potential to continue to increase the number of viewers because it is still showing in theaters and has received a positive response from viewers on various social media platforms.

In addition to setting an extraordinary record, Jumbo also presents various interesting facts. The production process involved more than 400 Indonesian creators, with the work taking more than five years. This film is not only successful in its homeland, but has also received a cooperation contract to be shown in 17 countries, with the possibility of adding other countries.

Jumbo also marks the directorial debut of Ryan Adriandhy, a comedian who won Stand Up Comedy Indonesia (SUCI) in 2011. Previously, Ryan won the Citra Award for his short animation titled Prognosis, which became a stepping stone to this big project.

This animated film is also supported by a number of famous voice actors, such as Prince Poetiray who voices Don, the main character in the Jumbo story, as well as Bunga Citra Lestari, Ariel NOAH, and Cinta Laura Kiehl. The presence of famous actors and actresses adds to the appeal of this film among the audience.

With continued success, Jumbo is expected to inspire more Indonesian animators to create, and provide a breath of fresh air for the country's animation industry.
