Honda Records Nearly The Same Number Of Orders As Last Year At GIIAS 2024

Tuesday, 30 Jul 2024

Honda Prospect Motor Indonesia received 1,861 orders at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2024, which took place from July 18-28, 2024. This figure almost matches the number of Honda orders at GIIAS last year, despite the overall automotive market experiencing a decline in sales this year.

The combination of the Honda Brio Satya and Honda Brio RS recorded the highest sales for Honda with 800 units or 43% of the total Honda sales at GIIAS 2024. Furthermore, Honda SUV models contributed the most to sales, with the Honda HR-V selling 386 units, the Honda WR-V selling 344 units, the Honda BR-V selling 164 units, and the Honda CR-V selling 109 units. All of these sales figures were orders placed at the Honda booth during the GIIAS 2024 event and have completed the administrative procedures with a booking fee.

Yusak Billy, as the Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of Honda Prospect Motor Indonesia, said, "The order figures at GIIAS this year, which are almost equal to the results from last year, indicate an improvement in consumer demand, despite the automotive market in general experiencing a decline compared to the same period last year.

This is also starting to have a positive impact on Honda sales, especially in the Jakarta area, where this July we recorded a 20% increase in orders compared to the previous month. We are confident that the realization of orders at GIIAS this year will be reflected in our retail figures in the early second semester."

Nationally, the automotive market in Indonesia from January to June 2024 recorded retail sales of 431,987 units, a decrease of about 14% compared to the same period last year. Honda itself recorded retail sales of 51,681 units in 2024, with the Honda Brio and Honda SUV models being the backbone of sales.

The holding of GIIAS 2024 has led to an increase in consumer interest in automotive products.

Based on Honda's internal calculations, there has been a 13% increase in the number of visitors to the Honda booth compared to the previous year's GIIAS. Not only successful in terms of visitors, Honda also won an award in the Favorite Special Exhibit Car category chosen by visitors at GIIAS 2024 for the Honda e:N1. At this event, Honda introduced the e:N1 as the first electric car that will be marketed in Indonesia in 2025.
