Honda has taken over the temporary standings of the 2024 IndyCar after Honda racers dominated the race series at the Detroit Grand Prix 2024. Honda racers, including Scott Dixon, Marcus Ericsson, Marcus Armstrong, and Kyle Kirkwood, finished in first to fourth positions in the Detroit race series held on June 2, 2024.

With this victory, the winner of the Detroit Grand Prix race series, Scott Dixon, is leading the temporary standings of the 2024 IndyCar with two wins. Alex Palou, who is also Scott Dixon's teammate, is in second position in the temporary driver standings with two wins as well.

Honda previously led the temporary manufacturer standings before the Indy500 series, but Honda managed to turn the tables with excellent race results at the Detroit Grand Prix, allowing Honda to regain the lead in the temporary manufacturer standings.

Scott Dixon, a racer from Chip Ganassi Racing team, said, "Our planned pit strategy worked well and was also accurate in the changing weather conditions throughout the race. Thanks to the right pit strategy, we were able to maintain the lead position and achieve an important victory in this series."

David Salters, President of Honda Racing Corporation USA, said, "We successfully utilized the pit strategy very well, allowing us to achieve excellent race results. We managed to place all four of our racers in the top four positions at the end of the race. We will continue to strive to maintain our advantage in the upcoming race series."

Through HRC (Honda Racing Corporation), Honda has consistently participated as a racing engine supplier in the IndyCar race series since 1996. Honda has become the manufacturer with the most championship trophies, with 5 titles in the driver category and 4 titles in the manufacturer category.
