This expansion of Vietjet's international flight network will also benefit tourists in Asia and Australia.

Vietjet Vice President Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh said, "Since Vietjet's first flight to Australia in April 2023, we have been expanding our network connecting the five largest cities in Australia: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide, with Ho Chi Minh City.

The launch of the Melbourne-Hanoi route on June 4, 2024, and the Sydney-Hanoi route, which will be launched on June 8, 2024, further demonstrates our commitment to continuously develop our flight network and provide quality services between Australia and Vietnam to meet the demands of local residents and tourists."

Jim Parashos, Melbourne Airport Flight Manager, stated that the growth of the Vietnamese market is one of the positive outcomes after the pandemic. He added, "The increase in market capacity benefits passengers with cheaper fares, but also provides access for exporters to high-value markets."

Vietjet's service in Hanoi will complement the current five-times-a-week flights to Ho Chi Minh City and open doors for Vietnamese people to connect with various other Asian destinations through this airline network. Vietnam is one of our top ten international destinations."

The launch of the Hanoi - Melbourne route is expected to attract investment and boost demand in the tourism sector, international education, family visits, and job opportunities in Victoria. The goal of this route is to help restore the state of Victoria's tourism sector to pre-pandemic levels by 2025, with a target of achieving tourism revenue of USD 53 billion and attracting 111.8 million tourists by 2028.

Following the launch of the Hanoi - Melbourne route, Vietjet will launch the Hanoi - Sydney flight route on June 8, 2024. Currently, Vietjet operates 58 weekly flights between Vietnam and Australia. In addition, the airline also has four routes connecting Vietnam with Indonesia: Jakarta to Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta to Hanoi, Bali to Ho Chi Minh City, and Bali to Hanoi. This expansion highlights Vietjet's commitment to providing a variety of connectivity options to various international destinations.

To welcome this launch, Vietjet is offering promotional ticket prices starting from Rp1,000,000 (including taxes and fees) for one-way economy class tickets, valid for all routes between Vietnam and Australia until June 10, 2024.
