The Indonesian Motorcycle Industry Association (AISI) believes that the two-wheeler market in the country will keep growing. Therefore, they have raised their sales target for next year. AISI Chairman Johannes Loman stated that they aim to sell at least 6.4 million motorcycles in 2025. This is a slight increase from this year's target of 6.2 million units. "The potential demand for next year is between 6.4 and 6.7 million units annually. We hope that motorcycle industry players can innovate to provide advanced, affordable, and eco-friendly vehicles," Loman said during the opening of the IMOS 2024 exhibition in Tangerang on Wednesday (October 30). From January to September 2024, motorcycle sales in Indonesia reached 4.87 million units, a 3.19 percent increase compared to the same period last year. This means manufacturers need to sell 1.33 million more units in the next three months to meet the 6.2 million target. "One of our efforts to achieve this target is by holding the IMOS exhibition every year. This year, we even expanded the area and had many more participants," he added. The hope is that the IMOS exhibition can boost motorcycle sales momentum, which has declined due to the pandemic, he added. The IMOS 2024 exhibition is taking place at ICE BSD, Tangerang, from today, Wednesday (30/10) to Sunday (3/11). Several motorcycle brands in Indonesia are participating, including Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, TVS, Royal Enfield, and Harley-Davidson. Additionally, electric motorcycle brands are also involved, such as ALVA, Electrum, Horwin, Polytron, Volta, ION Mobility, V Move, and many more. "We are confident that various new models will attract visitors and support the growth of the automotive industry in the future," said Loman.
