Indonesia To Become Production Hub For Chery Vehicles

In addition to assembling vehicles for the domestic market, Chery Indonesia has commenced exports to neighboring countries starting at the end of the year. In November 2024, Chery Indonesia is set to deliver the Omoda 5 to Vietnam. Chen Chunqing, Executive Vice President of Chery International, stated that the company is committed to establishing Indonesia as a production hub for right-hand drive vehicles.

"Today marks a new milestone in the journey of Chery Indonesia. This achievement demonstrates that Chery not only strongly supports the government's export volume expectations," Chen remarked in Bekasi on November 1, 2024.

"Moreover, it reflects Chery's commitment to long-term development and expansion in Indonesia," he added. Chen also mentioned that as a starting point, the company is prepared to ship 120 units of the Omoda 5 to Vietnam, with an export target of 5,000 units in the first year.

"We are confident that the Chery OMODA 5, with its futuristic design, robust performance, and advanced features, will be well-received by Vietnamese consumers," Chen stated. "Currently, we are also exploring plans to export to additional countries where Chery has established a presence," he concluded.

Chery has also stated that the specifications of the Omoda 5 being exported are identical to those of the model sold to domestic consumers. "We would like to express our gratitude for the support and assistance from the government during our growth and establishment in Indonesia," said Chen.
