Scoot Expands Its Flight Network To Padang, Phu Quoc, And Shantou

Scoot Airlines, a low-cost carrier and subsidiary of Singapore Airlines (SIA), announced today, Monday (November 11, 2024), the launch of three new flight services to Phu Quoc in Vietnam, Padang in Indonesia, and Shantou in China.

Flights to Phu Quoc and Padang are set to commence on December 20, 2024, and January 6, 2025, respectively, utilizing the Embraer E190-E2 aircraft. The service to Shantou will begin on January 16, 2025, with the Airbus A320.

With the introduction of services to Phu Quoc, Padang, and Shantou, Scoot will operate 84 weekly flights to 11 cities in Indonesia by January 2025. Additionally, Scoot will increase its weekly flights to Jakarta by two, bringing the total to 19 flights per week starting November 24, 2024.

Bookings for flights to Phu Quoc, Padang, and Shantou are now open, available through the Scoot website, mobile app, and gradually through other channels. One-way Economy class fares start at IDR 1.2 million from Jakarta to Phu Quoc, IDR 780,000 from Padang to Singapore, and IDR 1.65 million from Jakarta to Shantou, inclusive of taxes.

Phu Quoc, renowned for its rare wildlife and pristine beaches, is an ideal tropical paradise for adventure or relaxation. The island is also home to Phu Quoc National Park, recognized as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Currently, Phu Quoc is the only destination in Vietnam offering a 30-day visa-free policy, providing easy access for international travelers. Starting December 20, 2024, Scoot will operate flights to Phu Quoc three times a week. Two additional flights per week will be introduced starting January 25, 2025, bringing the total number of weekly flights between Singapore and Phu Quoc to five.

Padang, the capital of West Sumatra and the birthplace of Padang cuisine (Nasi Padang), is a renowned destination celebrated for its Minangkabau culture and stunning beaches ideal for surfing. Whether one is a lover of culture, nature, or gastronomy, Padang is a hidden gem awaiting exploration. Scoot will operate flights to Padang four times a week.

Shantou, a coastal city located in Guangdong province, China, is a destination rich in cultural heritage and is recognized as the home of Chaoshan cuisine, which includes marinated raw seafood dishes.

Tourists can stroll through Shantou Small Park to view the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall located in the Zhongshan Memorial Pavilion, or they can take a break from the city's hustle and bustle to enjoy the blue skies, sandy beaches, and stunning mountains on Nan Ao Island. Scoot will operate flights to Shantou three times a week.
