Qatar Airways Cargo, a leading global air cargo carrier, is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with MASkargo, a subsidiary of Malaysia Aviation Group. This partnership was officially launched today by Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo of Qatar Airways Cargo, and Mark Jason Thomas, Chief Executive of MASkargo. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in enhancing global cargo connectivity and operational efficiency. The collaboration, which commenced on October 1, 2024, has already transported approximately 2,400 tons of cargo, including over 600 tons of perishable goods and 130 tons of pharmaceuticals. Qatar Airways Cargo currently operates Boeing 777 flights from Doha to Kuala Lumpur twice a week, adding more than 200 tons of weekly cargo capacity. This strategic partnership also strengthens routes to Sydney and Melbourne via MASkargo's Airbus A330 aircraft, offering over 75 tons of weekly cargo capacity and a rapid transit time of just eight hours in Kuala Lumpur. The strategic hubs at Hamad International Airport (DOH) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) will play a crucial role in providing seamless connections and modern handling facilities. This agreement benefits both parties. MASkargo gains access to key destinations in Europe, the GCC, Levant, and Africa, while Qatar Airways Cargo secures additional capacity for routes to Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and Northeast Asia. This collaboration also supports the local market in Kuala Lumpur by creating export opportunities for products to the global market. Mark Drusch, Chief Officer Cargo of Qatar Airways Cargo, stated, "As a leading global air cargo carrier, our partnership with MASkargo reaffirms our commitment to delivering the best services and tailored solutions while expanding our global network through strategic alliances."
