Garuda Indonesia (GIAA) Will Add One New Aircraft In The First Quarter Of 2025

Tuesday, 28 Jan 2025

The national airline Garuda Indonesia (GIAA) has commenced operations with an additional narrow-body aircraft, a Boeing 737-800NG, registered as PK-GUG.

This aircraft, which arrived at the end of December 2024, is the second of a total of four additional units projected to be received by Garuda by the first quarter of 2025.

The operation of PK-GUG coincides with the inaugural flight of the Tahilalats livery, a collaboration between Garuda Indonesia, Tahilalats, and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, which was officially introduced to the public on Friday, January 17, and took its first flight the following day on flight GA-422 from Jakarta to Denpasar.

Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan, the President Director of Garuda Indonesia, stated that the PK-GUG aircraft will be optimized to support Garuda Indonesia's flights across various domestic and international routes. "With this additional fleet, Garuda Indonesia aims to enhance flight capacity through a gradual increase in production tools, aligning with the growing mobility of the public. This initiative also aims to support the revival of the national tourism sector," he noted in an official statement received by Kontan on Thursday, January 23.

Furthermore, the collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the local brand Tahilalats is expected to raise public awareness and excitement in supporting the development of the creative economy, particularly in promoting national intellectual property.

The initiative to consistently develop flight services and operations, including opportunities for collaboration with the best local brands in Indonesia, is anticipated to attract the public to experience exceptional flights with Garuda Indonesia.
