The Indonesian aviation landscape is set to become more vibrant with the introduction of a new airline, Fly Jaya. According to the official website of the company, headquartered at Menara Ekuitas on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in South Jakarta, operations are scheduled to commence this year. Fly Jaya will serve various domestic routes, including flights from Jakarta via Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport, as well as destinations in Bandung, West Java, the Special Region of Yogyakarta, and Samarinda through Melalan Melak Airport. This aligns with the airline's mission to provide reliable and comfortable air travel for the public. "Our mission, #ConnectingNusantara, aims to bridge the islands and communities of Indonesia, offering seamless travel for both leisure and business purposes. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional service that reflects the beauty and diversity of our nation," stated the management on their official website, as quoted on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Unfortunately, as of the time of this report, Tirto has not received a response from the management regarding the operational preparations of the airline and the exact date when Fly Jaya will commence its flights. In addition to Fly Jaya, the aviation industry has already been enlivened by the arrival of PT Blue Bird Nordic (BBN) Airlines Indonesia, which officially obtained its Air Operation Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation in May 2024. Subsequently, BBN Airlines Indonesia commenced its commercial passenger flights in September 2024. It is important to note that the AOC is a certification that airlines must possess to operate commercial passenger flights. Therefore, the Chairman of BBN Airlines Indonesia, Martynas Grigas, expressed hope that with this certification, BBN Airlines Indonesia would be able to meet the high demand for domestic flights.
