The product and aviation safety rating agency AirlineRatings.com has once again published its list of the world's best airlines for the year 2025. This information serves as a valuable reference for those planning long-distance travel. Korean Air has secured the top position, being named the Airline of the Year. Korean Air surpassed last year's winner, Qatar Airways, in the official ranking of the top 25 full-service airlines compiled by the Australia-based aviation safety and product rating organization. The airline has been commended for maintaining its original seat configuration and prioritizing the needs of economy class passengers.

"While many airlines have added a tenth seat per row on their 777 aircraft and reduced the seat pitch in economy class to 31 to 32 inches (down from 32 to 33 inches), Korean Air has chosen not to follow this trend," stated Sharon Petersen, CEO of AirlineRatings.com, as reported by CNN. The recent merger with Asiana Airlines, marking the largest consolidation in Asian aviation history, has also been recognized as a contributing factor to Korean Air's leading position. Meanwhile, AirAsia has topped the list of the 20 best low-cost airlines for 2025 according to AirlineRatings.com, outperforming Jetstar and AirBaltic, which ranked second and third, respectively.
