Wings Air officially opens a new flight route from Minangkabau International Airport (BIM). Through an official broadcast, the new Wings Air route connects Bengkulu City with Mukomuko Regency and Padang City via a new flight route. This route will operate from Fatmawati Soekarno Airport (BKS) in Bengkulu City to Mukomuko Airport (MPC) in Bandar Ratu Village, Mukomuko Regency. Corporate Communications Strategic of Wings Air, Danang Mandala Prihantoro said, the flight is connected to Minangkabau International Airport. "The flight schedule is being prepared," he said. He explained, for ticket reservations, prospective passengers can use the BookCabin application to facilitate the ticket reservation process to online check-in. "Prospective passengers can also join the CabinClub membership to get special offers," he explained. Danang said that on this new route, Wings Air will operate an ATR 72 aircraft with a capacity of 72 economy class seats, which is specifically designed for short-haul routes between regions. The presence of this route is expected to have a positive impact on the community, both within the scope of Bengkulu intra-province and across provinces. It is known that so far, land travel between the two regions takes up to 4-5 hours, depending on road conditions. The availability of direct flights, travel time is shortened to less than 1 hour, increasing travel efficiency for business people, government and the general public. In addition, this route will encourage economic growth in Mukomuko Regency, which is known as a producer of palm oil, rubber and other agricultural products. Padang City, as the capital of West Sumatra, is the center of economy, education and culture in the western region of Sumatra. With direct flights, the people of Bengkulu can more easily access educational facilities, health and business centers in Padang. On the other hand, this route will encourage cultural exchange and tourism between the two provinces. Unfortunately, the route from Padang to Mentawai has not been included in the new route. In fact, discussions regarding this route have been carried out previously by the West Sumatra Provincial Government and member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Andre Rosiade.
