PT Lion Mentari Airlines (Lion Air) has announced its readiness to operate Hajj flights from Indonesia for the 2025 season. According to an announcement on Instagram @lionairgroup, a cooperation agreement was signed on Friday, February 21, 2025. This marks a significant step in ensuring the smooth travel of Indonesian pilgrims, facilitated by the Directorate General of Hajj and Umrah Organizing of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia and PT Lion Air. "Lion Air will operate Hajj flights from two main embarkation points in Indonesia: Minangkabau International Airport in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra (PDG) and Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (BDJ)," stated Danang Mandala Prihantoro, Corporate Communications Strategic of Lion Air. Lion Air has prepared four modern, wide-body aircraft with an average age of 5 to 7 years, specifically the Airbus A330-300CEO and Airbus A330-900NEO, each with a capacity of 436 seats. e aircraft are equipped with top-notch comfort features, including spacious cabins and ergonomic seating to ensure passenger comfort during long-haul flights. Additionally, a professional crew, including pilots, cabin attendants, and technicians, has been trained rigorously in accordance with the operational standards for Hajj flights. Meals and beverages served during the flight have also been prepared with attention to nutritional needs and the preferences of the pilgrims. Lion Air's Experience in Flying to Saudi Arabia With over 13 years of experience, Lion Air has been providing Umrah flights from 10 cities in Indonesia to Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, Lion Air has supported Hajj flights from 35 global embarkation points, including regions in Central Asia, Western Asia, Southern Asia, Africa, and beyond.
