Ministry Of Transportation And UAE Discuss Opportunities For Cooperation In Aviation Sector

The Ministry of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenhub RI) together with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) discussed opportunities for strategic cooperation in the aviation sector. 

The discussion of cooperation opportunities was held when the Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi received a visit from the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta. 

"This meeting discussed the potential for strategic cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in the aviation sector," said the Minister of Transportation in his statement in Jakarta, Wednesday. 

In the meeting, the two parties discussed various collaboration opportunities that could strengthen bilateral relations between the countries, especially in the aviation sector. 

"The main focus of the discussion included the development of cooperation in the field of aircraft maintenance and the development of the aviation industry in Indonesia," said the Minister of Transportation. 

Cooperation in the aviation sector is considered to have great potential, considering Indonesia's strategic position on international trade routes. Then added to the increasing need for aviation services in the Asia-Pacific region. 

Minister Dudy hopes that cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE will not only be limited to the aviation sector, but can also be expanded to other transportation sectors. 

"In the future, we hope that this collaboration can cover the land, sea, and logistics transportation sectors. With broader cooperation, we can create an integrated transportation system and support the economic growth of both countries," said the Minister of Transportation. 

The meeting is also expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in encouraging the growth of an innovative, safe, secure, and sustainable transportation sector. 

Also present at the meeting were Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Novie Riyanto, Acting Director General of Air Lukman F Laisa, CEO of GMF Aeroasia Andi Fahrrurozi, Head of Economics Section at UAE Embassy in Jakarta Meera Eid Alzeezi. 

Furthermore, Managing Director & Group CEO of Sanad Group Mansoor Janahi, Country Manager of Emirates Airlines Indonesia Mohammed Al Attar, Economic Affairs at UAE Embassy in Jakarta AM Farul Baqi.
