Indonesia And UAE Discuss Cooperation Opportunities In Aviation

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi received a visit from the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Indonesia, H.E. Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri, on Tuesday (25/2/2025) at the Ministry of Transportation Office, Jakarta. This meeting discussed the potential for strategic cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in the aviation sector. In the meeting, both parties discussed various collaboration opportunities that could strengthen bilateral relations between the countries, especially in the aviation sector. 

"The main focus of the discussion includes developing cooperation in the field of aircraft maintenance and the development of the aviation industry in Indonesia," said the Minister of Transportation at the meeting, quoted from a written statement, Wednesday (26/2/2025). 

Cooperation in the aviation sector is considered to have great potential, considering Indonesia's strategic position on international trade routes. Then added to the increasing need for aviation services in the Asia-Pacific region. Minister Dudy hopes that cooperation between Indonesia and the UAE will not only be limited to the aviation sector, but can also be expanded to other transportation sectors. "In the future, we hope that this collaboration can cover the land, sea, and logistics transportation sectors. With broader cooperation, we can create an integrated transportation system and support the economic growth of both countries," said the Minister of Transportation. This meeting is expected to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and the UAE, especially in encouraging the growth of an innovative, safe, secure, and sustainable transportation sector.
