Easier To Explore NTT, Wings Air Opens New Route Kupang-Ruteng

To enjoy the beautiful charm of the nature of Flores Island, now people can more easily visit Ruteng City using Wings Air. 

In facilitating accessibility between regions, for the first time last Sunday Wings Air opened a direct flight route from Kupang to Ruteng. 

According to Wings Air's Corporate Communications Strategic, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, said that the route could make it easier for people to meet their needs. 

"The presence of this flight provides convenience for anyone who wants to travel between regions, in fulfilling various other important needs such as maintaining family ties, supporting business activities, education, to personal matters, and workers," said Danang in his statement, Wednesday (9/4/2025). 

He also explained the important reasons for this flight route, including: direct flights from Kupang without having to transit which takes a long time, connected from big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali, Makassar. Then it is easier to reach Ruteng from other NTT areas such as Rote, Waingapu, Tambolaka, Maumere, Ende, to Labuan Bajo. 

"More than just transportation, the opening of the Kupang-Ruteng route by Wings Air is a real step in encouraging tourism growth in the mountainous region of Flores which is rich in natural beauty and culture. At the same time, it opens economic and logistic access between regions so that local potential can continue to develop," explained Danang, 

"The presence of this route is also part of the development of connectivity in eastern Indonesia, which continues to be encouraged so that every region, including reaching sub-districts, can be connected more easily and evenly," he added. 

The fleet used for this flight route is an ATR 72 aircraft with a capacity of 72 economy class seats. Danang also added that for passengers who want to get lots of discounts and convenience, passengers can book tickets using the BookCabin application.
