The Pangandaran Airshow 2025, initiated by Susi Air, serves as a launching platform for a renewed enthusiasm in the development of general aviation in Indonesia. Emphasizing independence and simplicity, this event also marks the official opening of the Pangandaran Beach Strip, an alternative runway located by the beach, designated for small aircraft and the civil aviation community.

In her address, former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, underscored the necessity of creating more accessible and inclusive flight options in an archipelagic nation like Indonesia. She pointed out that not all airports need to be grand or paved with smooth asphalt; rather, they should be functional enough to facilitate the mobility of the public and small aviation enterprises.

"When discussing efficiency, I propose to start by offering free access for traffic wishing to land here. The Pangandaran Beach Strip is open to anyone who wants to take off or land, at no cost," she stated, eliciting enthusiastic applause from the attendees.

Susi further highlighted that the aviation sector has often appeared exclusive and out of reach for the general populace, primarily due to high operational costs and complex licensing processes. She asserted that national progress cannot solely rely on the efforts of government officials or legislators.

"This country cannot advance with bureaucrats alone. Civil society plays a crucial role as well. Therefore, let us simplify bureaucracy, streamline regulations, and collectively promote the advancement of our aviation sector," she passionately urged.

The Airshow, held in the coastal area, attracted various stakeholders from the aviation industry, including charter companies, flying clubs, and pilot schools. Notable participants included the Jogja Flying Club, Bandung Flying Club, paramotor communities, motortrack enthusiasts, paragliding groups, and aviation educational institutions such as Aero Flyer Institute, Proflight, and the Indonesian Aviation Polytechnic Curug (PPI Curug).
