Citilink airline has been flying Umrah pilgrims to Jeddah and Madinah from various cities in Indonesia since July 27, 2024 until April 2025. Citilink's CEO, Dewa Rai, said that it is an honor for Citilink to be able to transport Umrah pilgrims from various cities in Indonesia to the Holy Land. As one of the countries with the largest Muslim population in the world and seeing the positive trend of halal travel, Citilink sees this as a good opportunity to serve the mobility needs of the Indonesian people to perform Umrah. Citilink operates Umrah flights to Jeddah and Madinah from various cities in Indonesia such as Padang, Medan, Palembang, Surabaya, and Makassar using the Airbus A330 fleet. During this period, Citilink operates at least 450 flights through charter cooperation with various Umrah travel agencies. Dewa added that with the operation of Umrah charter flights to Jeddah, it is hoped that this will be a good start for Citilink to be able to serve regular Umrah flights in the future. "We hope that the trend of Umrah travel for the Indonesian people will continue to grow, so that Citilink can serve Umrah flights from other cities in Indonesia," Dewa concluded. Citilink is committed to ensuring that all flights run optimally by prioritizing safety, security, and comfort for all customers.
