Minister of Transportation Budi KaryaSumadi once again checked the progress of the construction of the Nusantara Capital Airport (IKN) on Monday (3/6). He revealed that the airport is targeted to be operational on August 1, 2024. During his visit, the Minister visited several points, such as the runway location and terminal building. He stated that the progress of construction at these two locations and several other facilities is generally good and according to plan. "The changes in the runway and terminal building are significant and clearly visible, compared to when I was last here at the end of April. This progress is certainly very encouraging," said the Minister. The Minister also appreciated and thanked all parties, especially the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and the workers for their hard work so far. He also hoped that this synergy could realize the joint commitment to complete the IKN Airport on August 1, 2024. "God willing, in July we will conduct a trial and be ready to operate to commemorate Independence Day on August 17," said the Minister. Furthermore, the Minister also hoped that the weather in the IKN area would always be clear in the coming months. "Hopefully the weather here will always be clear, so that the airport construction project can run smoothly," he explained. For your information, the progress of the physical work of the IKN Airport until the 25th week has covered several aspects, including: steel work, plumbing pipe installation, roof, walls, and electrical work in the VVIP Terminal; column work, plumbing pipe installation, and steel frame in the VIP Terminal; upper structure work on floors 1-4 of the ATC Building; pilecap work and plumbing installation in the Administration and Operational Building; minipile work and plumbing pipes in the PK-PPK Building; and upper structure work in the substation building. Other aspects include the structural work on the place of worship building, the structural work on the quarantine lab; the minipile work on the power house building; the cut & fill work, U-ditch excavation, geotextile, aggregate on the Main Access Road (uditch), Embung, and West Perimeter Road; the pile foundation work on the Pump Room and GWT Building, as well as the STP; and the foundation work on the official residence.
