PT Pertamina (Persero) will continue to collaborate with the media to support the Indonesian government's efforts in building national independence through energy management that adheres to the principles of availability, accessibility, affordability, acceptability, and sustainability. This commitment aligns with the celebration of National Press Day this year, which falls on Sunday, February 9, 2025, with the theme "The Press Guards Food Security for National Independence." Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice President of Corporate Communication at PT Pertamina (Persero), stated that Pertamina has worked with the press on various activities aimed at supporting the media's role in education and information. This synergy is crucial, especially in supporting the government's program to advance the welfare and economy of Indonesia. "Pertamina will continue to partner with the mass media to convey various company information to the public. This also reflects our commitment to openness and transparency," he said. Fadjar added that Pertamina actively engages in cooperation for education, promotion, and public relations. This includes field coverage to observe the industry’s operations and community development programs in the areas where they operate. To appreciate the media's support, Fadjar mentioned that since 2004, Pertamina has been giving annual awards through the Pertamina Journalistic Awards (AJP). Each year, 325 awards are presented for high-quality journalistic work from journalists across Indonesia. "AJP serves as a regular appreciation event from Pertamina for reporters, allowing all journalists from the country to participate, gain experience, and exposure related to the energy business and community empowerment. The best journalistic works are also recognized with opportunities for short journalism courses abroad to enhance their skills." Indonesian journalists can learn new skills and connect with global reporters, said Fadjar. Pertamina consistently engages with the press to enhance journalistic skills and educate about the energy industry, ensuring the public receives credible and informative news. "Ultimately, our support for the Indonesian press will improve the quality of information that the public gets from skilled reporters," Fadjar added. As a leader in energy transition, Pertamina is committed to achieving the Net Zero Emission target by 2060 by promoting programs that directly contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). All these efforts align with the implementation of Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) practices across Pertamina's business and operations.
