Check Out The Tenguyun Market In Tarakan, Deputy Minister Of Trade Jerry: Prices Of Basic Necessities Tend To Decrease And Stabilize.

The Ministry of Trade continues to make efforts to maintain price stability and availability of basic necessities stock. Some basic commodity prices tend to decrease and stabilize.

This was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga while reviewing the Tenguyun Market in Tarakan, North Kalimantan today, Saturday (13/7). Accompanying Deputy Minister Jerry were Acting Mayor of Tarakan Bustan, Head of the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs of North Kalimantan Province Hasriyani, and Acting Head of the Department of Cooperatives, SMEs, and Trade of Tarakan City UntungPrayitno.

"The Ministry of Trade continues to strive to maintain the stability of basic necessities prices and availability. As a result of discussions and dialogues with traders, some basic commodities have relatively decreased and stabilized. The prices of shallots and garlic at Tenguyun Market have now decreased from Rp45,000/kg to Rp40,000/kg. In addition, the prices of medium and premium rice are also relatively stable and their availability is maintained," said Deputy Minister Jerry.

Deputy Minister Jerry revealed that the current safe availability of basic necessities stock is the result of cooperation between the Ministry of Trade, the National Food Agency (Bapanas), and all stakeholders. This cooperation and synergy will continue to ensure the fulfillment of the basic needs of the people.

"The Ministry of Trade synergizes with all stakeholders. Synergy is carried out with the central government, local governments, and the Food Task Force of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to ensure the safe availability of basic necessities. If the stock availability is safe, prices will definitely be normal," added Deputy Minister Jerry.

Deputy Minister Jerry emphasized that the Ministry of Trade regularly monitors the prices and availability of basic necessities directly to traditional markets, modern retailers, retailers, traders, and distributors. This is done to ensure that the supply chain runs smoothly, stocks are abundant, and basic commodity prices are affordable for the people.

Based on observation, the prices at Tenguyung Market are as follows: medium rice is Rp13,000/kg, premium rice is Rp15,000/kg, garlic is Rp40,000/kg, shallots are Rp40,000/kg, red chili peppers are Rp100,000/kg, curly red chili peppers are Rp75,000/kg, large red chili peppers are Rp60,000/kg, sugar is Rp18,000/kg, Minyakita cooking oil is Rp18,000/liter, premium cooking oil is Rp20,000/liter, beef is Rp160,000/kg, chicken meat is Rp43,000/kg, chicken eggs are Rp35,500/kg, and wheat flour is Rp14,000/kg.
