The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Indonesia, as the parent organization of the business world and a government partner in economic development, continues to show improved performance. This is evidenced by a number of contributions and achievements of Kadin Indonesia during the 2021-2026 leadership period. Additionally, Kadin Indonesia also presents initiatives that prioritize inclusive, collaborative, and sustainable economic development. The Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, stated that Kadin Indonesia is the only parent organization of the industrial and business world and a strategic partner of the government whose formation is based on the law, namely Law Number 1 of 1987 concerning the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This position is strengthened by Presidential Decree Number 18 of 2022 concerning Amendments to the Articles of Association and Bylaws of Kadin Indonesia. "This July marks three years since I was entrusted as the Chairman for the 2021-2026 leadership period of Kadin Indonesia. Alhamdulillah, we have together made progress with various proud achievements. As a benchmark, more than 70% of the main work programs formulated in the 2021 VIII National Conference have been completed," said Arsjad. Arsjad added that the level of implementation of the results of the National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) continues to increase every year. "The evaluation results of the first year show that the programs designed at the 2021 Rapimnas were fulfilled by more than 50%. In the 2022 Rapimnas, the figure increased to more than 65%, and by the halfway point of the 2023 Rapimnas, the implementation had already reached more than 70%," Arsjad revealed. On that occasion, the Vice Chairman of the Organization, Legal, and Communication Coordinator of Kadin Indonesia, Yukki Nugrahawan Hanafi, also presented a flashback of Kadin Indonesia's journey from 2021 to July 2024, when the parent organization introduced a new concept regarding an inclusive and collaborative Kadin. In 2021, Indonesia faced many challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Kadin Indonesia had a vision and mission of "Restoring Health, Reviving the Economy" and supported economic strengthening through various initiatives. This included assisting in the implementation of the Vaksin Gotong Royong program, which successfully reached over 4.2 million doses, and establishing the first semi-permanent Oxygen House health facility in Indonesia," recalled Yukki. Despite limitations, Yukki added that Kadin Indonesia continued to participate and drive various policies at the national level. One of them was Kadin's participation in the Glasgow Climate Change Summit at COP26 to advocate for global climate policies. Moving into 2022, Kadin strengthened its internal organization by refining its Articles of Association, officially solidifying Kadin's position as the sole business umbrella in Indonesia. The changes to the Articles of Association were directly approved by President Joko Widodo in the form of Presidential Decree 18/2022. This organizational strengthening also brought a new spirit to continue contributing to national economic development. Concrete steps taken include the Upgrading MSME Partnership Movement and the launch of Wiki Entrepreneurship to increase the number of entrepreneurs and MSME players. Through this program, over 600 MSMEs have received training to enhance their capacity, and more than 200 MSMEs have completed certified export training. "2022 is also a significant milestone for Kadin Indonesia on the international stage. First, Kadin Indonesia participated in the 2022 World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland, and was involved in the B20 summit, which brought together 69 country delegations and over 3,000 business leaders," said Shinta W. Kamdani, Vice Chairman of the Maritime, Investment, and Foreign Affairs Coordinator of Kadin Indonesia.
