The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) of Indonesia held a coordination meeting today to prepare a whitepaper containing business proposals for the 2024-2029 economic development program. The coordination meeting was attended by hundreds of industry associations that are extraordinary members of Kadin Indonesia. Chairman of Kadin Indonesia, Arsjad Rasjid, explained that Kadin Indonesia is currently preparing a whitepaper containing proposals and input from business actors, investors, and even academics, regarding strategic economic issues related to the five-year economic development ahead. "In the preparation of this whitepaper, Kadin emphasizes the importance of the principles of Gotong Royong and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. In this regard, today we held a coordination meeting with the extraordinary member industry associations of Kadin Indonesia to participate in the preparation of the whitepaper by providing sectoral input in Focus Group Discussions and presenting studies, reports, and surveys," said Arsjad. Arsjad added that today's event also signifies the synergy of the business world in supporting national economic development. As the parent organization that accommodates the business world as well as a strategic partner of the government, Kadin Indonesia is ready to collaborate to ensure the success of the 2025-2029 economic development program in order to drive national economic growth and realize Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. "There are at least three issues that are the focus, namely the optimization of strategic sectors that can drive growth, strengthening the capacity of national MSMEs, and improving the welfare of the middle class. The ability to address these three issues will also determine the success in achieving Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045," Arsjad explained. Kadin Indonesia hopes that this economic policy whitepaper will strengthen and ensure the success of the 2025-2029 development program, as well as drive the implementation of the Asta Cita and the 17 priority programs of the elected presidential and vice-presidential pair, Prabowo Subianto - Gibran Rakabuming Raka. The initiative also reaffirms the commitment of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) to the government in realizing Indonesia's Golden Vision 2045. In addition to discussing the preparation of the economic development whitepaper, the coordination meeting of Kadin's ALB Indonesia association was also filled with the agenda of signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) regarding the Pilot Project of Association Synergy between the Mall Association and 8 Supporting Mall Associations. "Today's meeting is also a follow-up from the ALB Forum held during the National Coordination Meeting. Alhamdulillah, currently, more associations are joining Kadin Indonesia. At least there are now 221 associations, an increase of 78%, compared to only 124 associations when I first took office in 2021. This means there is more support and trust given to Kadin Indonesia," said Arsjad. Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Association of Indigenous Entrepreneurs of Indonesia (HIPPI) Erik Hidayat appreciates Kadin Indonesia for involving associations in the process of preparing the whitepaper, which can later be considered by the government in formulating work programs. This is in line with Kadin Indonesia's mandate as a forum for the business world and a strategic partner of the government in economic development. "We hope that after this whitepaper is submitted to the government, there will be government support for local entrepreneurs. We also ask for Kadin Indonesia's assistance, so that the voices of local entrepreneurs are still heard," said Erik. In line with Erik, the Chairman of the Indonesian Food and Beverage Services Company Association (APJI), Tasha Megananda, praised the inclusive role of Kadin Indonesia in involving associations in formulating the Whitepaper. "We see Kadin's initiative as very important in bridging the interests of the business world to the government through policy advocacy has helped convey the aspirations of associations, groups, associations, and coalitions," concluded Tasha.
