The Ministry of Trade is in charge of overseeing and guiding all types of business activities, including those related to eco-friendly vehicle products. This was highlighted by Ivan Fithriyanto, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Trade Order (PKTN), during a meeting with the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (Aismoli) at the Ministry of Trade in Jakarta on Tuesday (September 17). "The Ministry of Trade has the authority to supervise and guide business activities that directly impact consumer safety, health, and the environment, including electric motorcycles. The PKTN also ensures that these business activities comply with existing regulations," Ivan explained. Aismoli, which represents all electric motorcycle manufacturers and distributors in Indonesia, visited to support national consumer protection efforts. "The government appreciates businesses that are advancing the eco-friendly transportation industry. This aligns with the government's initiative to shift from gasoline-powered motorcycles to electric ones. Business operators need to actively promote electric motorcycles along with comprehensive education to help the public feel confident in choosing and using them as a safe, eco-friendly vehicle option," Ivan emphasized. He added that electric motorcycle businesses not only create job opportunities but also positively impact the environment and support the government's go-green initiatives. Therefore, Aismoli members are encouraged to adhere to regulations, provide user instructions and after-sales services, and ensure the availability of spare parts while being responsive to consumer issues. The Secretary General of Aismoli, R. Hanggoro Ananta Khrisna, shared that the aim of establishing Aismoli is to partner with the government in developing a competitive and responsible electric motorcycle business and industry. "Aismoli is always committed to prioritizing consumer protection in line with regulations, ensuring that consumers feel safe and comfortable using electric motorcycle products," Hanggoro emphasized.
