Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi expressed his appreciation and support for the Sail to Indonesia Goes to Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) event, initiated by PT Pelindo. He emphasized that this initiative should enhance national maritime connectivity and logistics. The Minister shared these thoughts in a video during the opening of the Sail To Indonesia Goes To BMTH event on Wednesday (October 2). "This event should not only promote Indonesia's marine tourism but also strengthen our maritime connectivity and logistics. Additionally, it should enhance Indonesia's maritime relations with other countries, promoting cooperation in logistics, maritime transport, security, and ocean conservation," the Minister stated. He further highlighted the significance of this initiative for Indonesia's economic growth. "These initiatives are crucial for our economic development, contributing significantly to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and creating job opportunities," he added. The Minister also noted that choosing Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) as the venue reflects a shared vision to position Indonesia as a global maritime center. "Selecting BMTH for this event showcases the joint vision between Pelindo and the government to make Indonesia a global maritime hub," he mentioned. The Sail To Indonesia Goes To BMTH event is set to take place from October 2-4, 2024, in collaboration with the Sail to Indonesia Rally, featuring 30 yachts from various countries, including Australia, France, the USA, the UK, and Canada. Also attending the event virtually was the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno.
