Saturday, 07 Dec 2024

The Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency (Menekraf/KaBekraf), Teuku Riefky Harsya, is exploring further collaboration with the United States-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) to enhance the role of the creative economy sector as a new growth engine.

"Indonesia and the United States share a rich cultural history and a dynamic creative sector. Through collaboration, we can unlock opportunities for growth and innovation," stated Minister Riefky during a presentation at the US-ABC 2024 Indonesia Business Mission held at the Soesilo Soedarman Hall, Sapta Pesona Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.

Minister Riefky further emphasized that to strengthen the strategic partnership between the Ministry of Creative Economy and US-ABC, it is essential to share knowledge and experiences (best practices) regarding regulations and facilitation in the creative economy.

"We welcome initiatives from all US-ABC members aimed at developing the creative sector in Indonesia. We invite all delegates to engage in investment collaboration, invest in promising subsectors of the creative industry, and participate in joint exchange programs with our team," Minister Riefky added.

The Ministry of Creative Economy and US-ABC have established a formal partnership in the creative sector since March 17, 2022, which is set to conclude on March 17, 2025. During this meeting, Minister Riefky expressed his openness to continuing the existing collaboration.

"We recognize the strength of the US creative industry and its expertise in various fields such as technology-based industries, film production, music, animation, and many others. These are also rapidly developing subsectors of the creative industry in Indonesia," Minister Riefky continued.

US-ABC serves as an advocacy organization for American companies operating in ASEAN, representing the interests of the US private sector in promoting mutually beneficial trade and investment relations between the United States and ASEAN member countries.
