Production house Elior Tesla Pictures presents a film titled "Samar" with a psychological horror genre that will be released in March 2025. Director Renaldo Samsara said that this film is his debut which started from personal anxiety and also his friends who have similar anxiety, which is felt when in an unpleasant situation. "Anxiety is actually the passion, this goes back to the theme of the film, which is when we are in a situation that we don't like or we don't favor. What should we do about that situation," said Renaldo Samsara, during a press conference, in Jakarta, Sunday. Although Rinaldo likes the drama and fantasy genres, he feels that the translation of his anxiety this time feels challenged to make a film with the horror genre. "So that anxiety, I came back from, this is my first debut film, here I'm very grateful. But actually I just like the drama, fantasy film genre. But here it's more, the translation is, horror," he said. Imelda Therinne, one of the actors in this film, expressed her happiness because the film Samar was finally released and could be watched by film lovers. "Honestly, I'm really happy that Samar can finally be released, and can be watched by film lovers. In my opinion, in the midst of the mushrooming horror films. This horror film is quite something to fight for," she said. This film stars Imelda Therinne, Aurora Ribero, Kevin Julio, Revaldo Fifaldi, and Runny Rudiyanti. The film "Samar" tells the story of Ilmira (Imelda Therinne), a horror comic artist, who is now also in a financial crisis, who must be required to complete her latest work in order to maintain her existence and meet her living needs. After her husband (Revaldo Fifaldy) left her for another woman, Ilmira set foot in the family's wooden house that had been abandoned for decades. She began working on her new comic in the house with an eccentric teenager who is often called "Elsa" (Aurora Ribero). Struck by difficulties while working on the work, Ilmira was increasingly haunted by many mysterious figures from the horror stories she had created in the past, which prevented her from finishing it. Ilmira's journey in facing this terror led her to big questions about herself and her past. The film "Samar" is scheduled to be shown in Indonesian cinemas starting March 13, 2025. Not only that, this film will also be shown in three countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei, on March 20, 2025.
