Prabowo Aims To Prioritize Domestic Economic Improvement In His First Year As President

President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized his commitment to enhancing Indonesia's economy during his initial year in office. To this end, he has participated in various international economic forums shortly after his inauguration.

"We are observing the developments, and I must concentrate on improving the domestic economy in the early months and years of my presidency," Prabowo stated in a press release from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel on Monday, November 18, 2024.

It is noted that the international forums occurring soon after his inauguration include the APEC Summit in Peru and the G20 Summit in Brazil. During this period, Prabowo also visited several countries, including China and the United States, to discuss economic matters with their leaders.

"Coincidentally, upon my inauguration, the G20 and APEC meetings were taking place, and I needed to attend them since they were closely scheduled. I also took the opportunity to visit China and the United States," Prabowo remarked.

Following the G20 Summit, Prabowo plans to continue his travels to the United Kingdom, where he hopes to attract investment.

"After returning from the G20, I will head to the UK to discuss economic issues as well. There are possibilities for us to attract investment," he noted.

Additionally, Prabowo intends to visit several countries in the Middle East. However, he expressed a desire to return to Indonesia promptly.

"I also aim to stop by a few countries in the Middle East, depending on whether the dates align, but I genuinely wish to return home soon," he concluded.
