Wednesday, 04 Dec 2024

Investment Minister and Head of BKPM Rosan Roeslani has expressed that companies affiliated with the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC) are optimistic about the investment climate in Indonesia. In a press statement to the media, Minister Rosan conveyed the investors' confidence in Indonesia's commitment under President Prabowo Subianto's leadership to foster a conducive business environment.

"They are very excited because most of them have already invested in Indonesia, and there are also those who plan to invest in sectors such as minerals, oil, and gas," he stated at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

He noted that investors have positively welcomed the government's commitment to uphold the law, combat corruption, and enhance the ease of doing business in Indonesia. Minister Rosan believes these measures provide a sense of security and comfort for business operators.

"The President has made it clear that there is no tolerance for corruption or any negative factors that could hinder investment. The rule of law will be strictly enforced, which also offers reassurance to investors who have already committed to Indonesia," he added.

In addition to regulatory aspects, Minister Rosan emphasized the importance of developing local human resources. He hopes that investments will not only support economic growth but also facilitate technology transfer and enhance the capabilities of the Indonesian workforce.

"The expectation is that as they invest, they will simultaneously build and improve the capacity of our human resources and workers, with a focus on technology transfer," Rosan explained.

During the US-ABC meeting, Rosan also revealed that President Prabowo provided a firm response regarding the government's commitment to supporting collaboration between foreign and domestic investors to promote sustainable economic growth.
