President Prabowo Subianto summoned economic ministers to the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday (3/20/2025). A number of ministers summoned by Prabowo were Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Investment and Downstream Rosan Perkasa Roeslani. There were also Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid and Head of the National Economic Council (DEN) Meutya Hafid. "We discussed state revenues. Regarding how we can increase the tax ratio and how to intensify and improve the administration," said Sri Mulyani, after meeting Prabowo at the Presidential Palace Complex, Thursday. Sri Mulyani said that the government will take a number of steps to increase tax revenues. It is known that tax revenues as of January 31, 2025, fell by 34.5 percent to IDR 115.18 trillion. "We are trying several steps that we are currently taking," he said. Similarly, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the meeting focused on discussing state revenues. "State revenues, that goes to the Minister of Finance. (The focus is) state revenues, taxes, tax issues, PNBP (Non-Tax State Revenues)," he said. However, Airlangga denied that this discussion was held because revenues as of January 2025 had plummeted due to declining taxes. "We are discussing overall state revenues. All (are highlighted), taxes, PNBP, royalties, and others. (The President asked) to maximize state revenues," said Airlangga.
