Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie responded to indications of a slowdown in the Indonesian economy in the first quarter of 2025. This is reflected in the decrease in the number of travelers during Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri or Lebaran 2025. Anindya assessed that this condition has not fully impacted national economic growth. According to him, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is still optimistic that Indonesia's economic growth will still be on target. Anindya said that fluctuations in economic growth are normal. However, these fluctuations must be compared with the national economic target in terms of priorities. "But we see that the economic target can be achieved and also that exports every month increase positively by USD 2.5 billion to 3 billion dollars. Now this is something that is prospective for the long term, including for this year," explained Anindya, Wednesday (2/4/2025). Furthermore, Anindya explained that based on the level of investment, Indonesia managed to achieve an increase in 2024. The third is also investment in 2024, if I'm not mistaken, it was IDR 900 trillion, above IDR 700 trillion the previous year. So if investment and trade increase, of course economic growth will automatically be on target," explained Anindya. Therefore, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry assesses that the current economic slowdown is only temporary. "So we are quite positive that it will be in accordance with the target (economic growth)," said Anindya. It was previously known that the Free Nutritious Meals Program (MBG) and the construction of 3 million houses were projected to be the main engines of Indonesia's economic growth in 2025. This is in line with the government's budget efficiency policy, which allows for greater allocation for strategic programs. The President's Special Advisor for Economic Affairs, Bambang Brodjonegoro, stated that economic growth no longer depends on political momentum such as general elections, but rather on the successful implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's main programs. "The engine of economic growth now relies on the execution of government priority programs, no longer on election momentum," said Bambang at the "Economic Outlook 2025" event, Tuesday (4/2/2025).
