United States (US) President Donald Trump has set reciprocal tariffs applicable to more than 180 countries and territories under a broad new trade policy. The US administration has shown the effective tariff levels it claims will be imposed on other countries against US goods. In a list that has also been circulating on social media, Trump shows the new tariffs that the US will impose on each country and territory, including the European Union. The reciprocal tariffs are not necessarily the only US tariffs that will be imposed on these countries. Trump held up the chart when he unveiled his tariff policy in the White House Rose Garden. How much is the reciprocal tariff for Indonesia? Reported by CNBC, Thursday (3/4/2025), Indonesia is also not exempt from the reciprocal tariffs that Trump called the "Liberation Day" announcement. The list also shows that the US will impose a reciprocal tariff of 32 percent on Indonesia. As an illustration, this amount is relatively large compared to other Southeast Asian countries. For comparison, Malaysia is subject to a reciprocal tariff of 24 percent, and the Philippines has a reciprocal tariff of 17 percent. Meanwhile, Singapore is also subject to a lower reciprocal tariff of 10 percent. However, countries such as Vietnam and Thailand are actually under heavier tariff pressure by being subject to higher US reciprocal tariffs. Vietnam, for example, is subject to a reciprocal tariff of 46 percent and Thailand 36 percent.
