The organization of the Flag Ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia in the first National Capital of Nusantara (IKN) will be a historic event for the people of East Kalimantan. Since it was designated by President Joko Widodo in 2019, the presence of IKN has had a significant impact in various sectors. One of them is the significant economic growth, both in airports, hotels, and the culinary industry in East Kalimantan. In addition to creating extraordinary euphoria among the people, the organization of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day in IKN is expected to be a good opportunity to introduce the new capital widely. The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) in this case, plays an active role in disseminating information about the development of IKN, including the readiness for the upcoming 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration. As Government Public Relations (GPR), Kemenkominfo continues to be committed to amplifying and increasing public awareness of the IKN program. "We hope to continue building synergy and collaboration between ministries and agencies. Also, we will continue to provide accurate information to the public. So that we can provide an understanding to the public about the government's readiness to hold the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in IKN," said the Director General of Information and Public Communication of Kemenkominfo, Usman Kansong at the Press Conference "Readiness of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and Local Community in Welcoming the Implementation of the Flag Ceremony for the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in IKN" online (18/07). President Joko Widodo is scheduled to attend and lead the ceremony on August 17 at IKN. On the same day, a ceremony will also take place at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The Flag Ceremony holds great significance in the nation's history, serving as a symbol of unity and togetherness for all Indonesian people. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government, along with the local community, is committed to ensuring the success of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day celebration with thorough preparations. The ceremony on August 17 at IKN will mark a historic moment for the people of East Kalimantan. The establishment of IKN has created a unique sense of excitement since 2019, when East Kalimantan was designated as the site for the National Capital. Secretary of the East Kalimantan Provincial Government, Sri Wahyuni, stated that various preparations have been made for the ceremony at IKN, including infrastructure and accommodation. "In terms of infrastructure access, the road conditions are already very adequate," Sri explained. Hospitality is also a top priority in the preparations. The government has prepared a list of accommodations, including hotels, guest houses, and lodgings for invited guests. The East Kalimantan Provincial Government will encourage relevant parties to prepare the existing facilities. In addition, video screens will be set up at strategic points so that the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony can be watched together by the public. In terms of publicity, Sri explained that various materials, such as banners and billboards, have been prepared. Publicity placements will be made at strategic points, starting from the airport and toll roads leading to IKN. Several security personnel will also be deployed in Balikpapan and Samarinda, especially at points where invited guests will be traveling to IKN.
