Deddy Yevry Sitorus, the Chairman of the DPP PDIP, acknowledged hearing about Joko Widodo's attempts to disrupt the party, particularly through the potential replacement of the current Secretary-General, Hasto Kristiyanto. During a press conference at the DPP PDIP office in Jakarta on Thursday evening, December 19, he did not deny the rumors when questioned by the media. "I believe we are in agreement on this matter. Therefore, we will not refute the indications you have mentioned," he stated. While Deddy refrained from providing further details regarding the rumors, he admitted that he had been aware of them, noting that they had been deliberately circulated in the lead-up to the upcoming congress in 2025. "This issue has indeed gained significant traction and has been intentionally disseminated. However, we prefer not to mention any names here, as we believe they are no longer worthy of mention," Deddy remarked. Ronny Talapessy, the Chairman of the DPP PDIP for Legal Reform, has instructed all party members to remain vigilant against any attempts to undermine the party as the fifth congress approaches in 2025. This statement was made in response to the proliferation of billboards questioning the legitimacy of Megawati Soekarnoputri's leadership, which has been extended since June. "The circulation of provocative billboards and banners has created a state of heightened alert within the PDI Perjuangan, prompting a reaction to the attempts to disrupt the party ahead of the congress, as stated by Ibu Megawati Soekarnoputri," Ronny explained. He indicated that there are efforts from various parties to destabilize the leadership of the party and its chairperson, asserting that this external movement has incited anger among the party's members.
